When you have a dog, it becomes part of the family, a best friend, a loyal companion and a giant part of your life. And you don’t want that best friend to be left out of the celebration on your wedding day, do you? No way!
Here are some ways to include your dog in your wedding:
• Dress your dog for the occasion. Have a flower collar made for Lady and a doggie tuxedo or big bow tie made for Rex.
• If your dog is very well-trained, have it process down the aisle with the best man. Assign an usher to take to the dog to the back of the ceremony if it gets distracted or uncomfortable.
• Make your dog your ring bearer. Secure your rings to a ribbon around your dog’s neck. Be sure someone is watching the dog at all times to make sure your rings don’t take off at a run!
• Set aside some quiet, calm time for photographs with you and your dog all dressed up in your wedding attire.
• Have a Pomeranian or a Teacup Poodle? Make it a special basket to sit in as it’s carried down the aisle so it will be comfortable and out of harm’s way.
• Have a Newfoundland or a Mastiff? Make sure your aisle is wide enough for your dog to process without whacking guests with its tail!
• After the wedding, ask a friend to take your dog home to relax with some food, water and their very own comfortable doggie bed.
